Exam & Certification

About Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Exam & Certification

  • There are 3 options to certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
1. Basic Certification (Level 2):

Complete all course content and pass each phase of the online exam with a minimum of 80%.

2. Standard Certification (Level 3):

Complete all course content, pass all online quizzes, pass each phase of the online exams with a minimum of 80% and complete a simulated project.

3. Advanced Certification (Level 4):

Complete all course content, pass all assignments, pass each phase of the online exam with 80%, and complete one workplace improvement project. This option is best suited for people whose roles include (or will include) responsibility for leading complex workplace projects.

What’s included in the Case Study/Simulated Project?

  • For Standard Certification (Level 3), your training includes a case study, which has been designed to assist you in learning how to apply the theory as you progress through your training. The project, a case study-style assignment, allows you to apply the DMAIC methodologies and tools to a complex business problem. Standard certification confirms that you have completed your course material, passed your exams, and submitted and passed the final review of your simulated project.
  • For Advanced Certification (Level 4) you are not required to submit a case study project, although it is helpful to use the project to practise your skills. You will need to submit an actual business impact project, and will require expert coaching to support you for success. Advanced Certification confirms that you have completed your course material, passed your exams, and submitted and passed the final review of your own project, including coaching from one of our Master Black Belts in order to certify.

About the exam

  • You are required to pass an online multiple-choice exam. The exam compromises of 1 exam per DMAIC phase to measure comprehension of the body of knowledge.
  • Each exam is a timed, open-book exam.
